UrFight and Intimidation Clothing are pleased to announce the addition of another new sponsor of the Team UrFight fighter program - Spider Guard. Makers of an athletic cup which provides protection, comfort and the ability to maintain lateral movement, the unique webbing design will help athletes by protecting them, without limiting or restricting movement. The most comfortable athletic cup on the market, Spider Guard products allow athletes in any contact or non-contact sport the option of not having to sacrifice protection for performance and comfort, and absorb and displace (rather than merely deflect) energy to aid in the prevention of injuries.

The addition of Spider Guard to the Team UrFight fighter program was kicked off at RFA 37 with the sponsorship of John Poppie (pictured) and will once again be on the national stage at Legacy FC 54 with the sponsorship of undefeated middleweight Andrew Todhunter. Both sponsorships are broadcast to a national audience on AXSTV.

The month of May may be the "biggest" month ever when it comes to Intimidation alums fighting in the UFC. While few fights will ever top a UFC heavyweight championship fight, UFC events will see a total of four Intimidation alums in action on the world's biggest stage for MMA in the month of May.

The action begins on May 14th at UFC 198 as Stipe Miocic fights Fabricio Werdum for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Miocic (14-2, 8-2 UFC) is coming off of consecutive UFC wins over Mark Hunt and Andrei Arlovski and looks to break Cleveland's sports championship losing streak. A product of Strong Style Martial Arts in Independence, Ohio, Miocic was sponsored by Intimidation during his 6-0 professional MMA start as he won the NAAFS Heavyweight title sporting the Intimidation brand just before signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Two weeks and a day later at UFC Fight Night 88: Almeida vs. Garbrandt, yet another UFC event will be headlined by a Intimidation alum as Cody Garbrandt fights in the main event. Held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Garbrandt will be joined by Intimidation alums Jessica Eye and Adam Milstead who also are in action. Garbrandt was sponsored in multiple amateur fights by the Intimidation brand while both Eye and Milstead were long-time members of Team Intimidation. While Eye will fight in her 6th UFC fight, Milstead will be making his UFC debut after a 7-1 start to his pro career including a 7-fight winning streak since moving to heavyweight.

In addition to the Intimidation alums in action, friend of the brand Matt "The Immortal" Brown is also set to step into the Octagon when he faces Demian Maia at UFC 198.

For over 5 years, Paul and Stacie Kaldy have lived the American dream. Starting their own company, in this case a clothing brand, and building that brand from the ground up. UrFight, a name that was trademarked by the couple in 2011, has turned into one of the most well-recognized and respected brands in combat sports during that time selling at MMA and boxing events, in stores and gyms, and by sponsoring several thousand MMA fighters and boxers across the USA. In 2014, seeking additional venues for the brand to expand, the Kaldys held UrFight 1 and UrFight 2 - two amateur MMA events in the state of Virginia.

Fast forward to February 12, 2016, when the owners of UrFight and Intimidation Clothing were made aware of the UrFight event by one of our many trusted contacts in the combat sports community, just minutes after it was announced to the public. Immediately, our Twitter timeline blew up, many of the comments negative, and we have since fielded calls and voicemails, received emails, seen Facebook mentions, a multitude of Twitter and Instagram tags and more referring to UrFight as the official event promoter. This has led to extreme levels of brand confusion and hurt our good name.

One example of this negative confusion was seen just minutes after the start of the event on Sunday, March 20th when Frank Merenda (@FrankMerendaVV) tweeted “I can't believe i did it again. I actually paid to see @UrFightSite ... .” That tweet received 2 retweets and 3 favorites within 5 minutes of being posted. The confusion has even been seen in our own private Facebook group for sponsored fighters where one of our staff members had to correct one of our own after posting a link to the event details. A variety of other examples, numbering well over 50 specific instances, has been collected as well by the UrFight staff.

UrFight, the lawful holder of the trademark, is a staple in the Local MMA community, sponsoring fighters and combat sports events across the USA and in Canada. In fact, UrFight and Intimidation Clothing sponsored 5 Local MMA events in 5 states this past weekend. “Paul and Stacie built this company from the ground up and have put years of hard work into building a good name for UrFight. To have someone swoop in, hold a freakshow event and hurt the UrFight name is basically the same as killing the American dream,” stated Luke Jernigan, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the UrFight and Intimidation Clothing brands. “We have seen fans, the media and even the participants in this event confuse things numerous times. It’s like buying a house, fixing it up and making it your own then having a stranger move in, trash the place and leave.”

The UrShow UrFight event itself has not gone off without controversy and problems. Originally, Ken Shamrock was supposed to fight Dan Severn in a MMA bout while Roy Jones Jr. was to fight a fan. However the Arizona commission stepped in and the fan was changed into a professional boxer - quite a difference. While the Chael Sonnen versus Michael Bisping grappling match happened as scheduled, Bisping himself posted a picture for his 143k fans tagging our band - @UrFight on Instagram, “Live next week. Watch it by following the link in my bio. @UrFightSite http://bit.ly/21Lw9tX ”. That post was also tweeted to his 271k Twitter followers which also tagged our brand on Twitter. Their match, which many have questioned given the fact that Bisping is vying for a UFC title shot and Sonnen is now retired, ended in a draw.

UrShow.tv and the parent company, UrChannel were sent a Cease and Desist letter in regards to the event. If deemed necessary, legal action will be taken. Further details are not available at this time due to the pending legal case.

UrFight co-founder and Director of Operations, Paul Kaldy added, “to all of our fans, customers, sponsored fighters and everyone in the combat sports community, we are truly sorry for any confusion that has arisen as a result of this unlawful use of our brand name. We will continue to do everything in our power to protect our brand and to protect the tens of thousands of UrFight product owners across the USA who have helped us build the UrFight brand into the biggest supporter of Local MMA in the country.”

On one of the busiest weekends in the history of the UrFight and Intimidation Clothing brands, record success was the end result. While UrFight & Intimidation sponsored 5 events in 5 states in one night, including Local MMA events in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Wyoming, the end results not only included big wins from sponsored fighters but also fantastic branding and record sales.

In Indiana, UrFight & Intimidation continued their long relationship with the Midwest Fight Series which saw Intimidation alums Austin Tweedy and Dustin Parrish both in action in the professional ranks. Staying in the Midwest, the Revelation Fight Organization (RFO), a staple of Ohio MMA held in Mansfield, held the Big Guns 18 pro/am. The packed house saw Intimidation alums John Hawk and George Comer both in action and official Intimidation & UrFight dealer GriffonRawl Combat Sports & Fitness fighters go 5-0 on the night.

However the biggest Local MMA event of the night, and possibly in the USA, was Apex Fights X in Kingsport, Tennessee, where RFA star Adam Townsend fought close to home for the first time in over a year after three fights for the AXSTV broadcast RFA. Townsend did not disappoint the hundreds of his fans in attendance as he overwhelmed his opponent for two rounds before scoring a 3rd round TKO victory to improve his professional record to 15-4 on the night that Intimidation & UrFight debuted the new Primetime tees (pictured). Meanwhile, undefeated amateur Chandler Cole continued to build his resume with a dominating unanimous decision victory while supported by the new UrFight Strong sponsorship program.

UrFight was also present at C4FC in Paducah, Kentucky where the company looks to continue to expand into the Western part of the state sponsoring the promotion for the first time. The Rocky Mountain MMA event featured three championship bouts and fighters in the region will surely benefit from UrFight & Intimidation's expansion into the region with MMA sponsorship opportunities available.

Finally, sponsoring their first event in the state of Wyoming, UrFight sponsored heavyweight Kenneth Brenneman brought home the hardware winning his championship bout while his crew at the UrFight/Intimidation booth began to lay a foundation for Local MMA in the Northwest. While UrFight and Intimidation have a presence in multiple states in the region, delving into Wyoming is already opening up doors for the brands as the quest to be the far and away biggest supporters of Local MMA in the world continues to be realized.

The UrFight and Intimidation brands continue to keep the train rolling this weekend as the Local MMA scene continues to stay busy. Both brands will be available at events in Indianapolis, Indiana as well as Brookfield and Fostoria, Ohio, all areas that are quite familiar with the two top names in the Local MMA industry.

In Indianapolis, the Midwest Fight Series returns with their first show of 2016 as MFS XIV takes place at the Hoosier Park Racing & Casino. Six pro fights are scheduled with UrFight sponsoring Jason Gilliam, Steven Jenkins, Robert Little, Benjamin Deleon and Josh Flodder. Gilliam and Flodder will both be part of the 2016 UrFight/Intimidation sponsorship program. In addition, Intimidation alums Austin Tweedy and Bryant Whitaker are both in pro action on the card. Fighters, fans and long-time customers will be able to get shirts personalized at the event at the UrFight/Intimidation booth.

Ohio MMA, while not quite as busy as it was a few years ago, will have a busy weekend overall with two events featuring the UrFight and Intimidation brands. The Yankee Lake Brawlroom promotion will hold their first event of the new year on Saturday night in Brookfield, Ohio near Youngstown. With a long history of partnership with the UrFight brand, Intimidation Clothing has also sponsored many Yankee Lake MMA events as well. Meanwhile, in Fostoria, OH near Findlay in NW Ohio, Primetime MMA will also be in action as the promotion puts on their first show in several months.
