Spotlight on Cage Fury Fighting Championships XIV Champion, Sean Santella!
Spotlight on Cage Fury Fighting Championships XIV Champion, Sean Santella!
Atlantic City, NJ – In two weeks, Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) will have three title bouts on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Boragta Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. One of the main bouts of the evening will be a five-round title bout between current CFFC flyweight champion, Sean “Shorty Rock” Santella and “Kid Thunder” Tuan Pham. After winning the title earlier this year, Santella is eager to get back in the cage. “Being the first ever CFFC flyweight champion is awesome,” said Santella. “Cage Fury Fighting Championships is a great organization that really knows how to treat there fighters. Being a champion in the east coast’s premiere organization, Santella took a quick look back on his roots while preparing for his upcoming title shot. “I started training Brazilian JiuJitsu (BJJ) in 2007 with Andre Gigueto Soares,” said Santella. “I trained with Gigueto on-and-off for a year before I decided to start training at AMA Fight Club. I hold a brown belt in BJJ under Jamie Cruz and hold a couple of titles at different weights.”
While compiling a record of 9-3-1 and has fought the toughest competition the sport has to offer. Even though his last two fights were wars (a decision loss against current CFFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling and a submission victory over Bryan Lashomb), Santella reflects on his first fight as being the toughest. “My hardest fight was my professional debut against UFC’s Nick Pace,” said the champion. “It’s all still a blur to me. I’m not sure if it was the adrenaline or debut jitters.” Some people say that a champion isn’t truly a champion until he defends the title. Santella will soon be able to cement his legacy with his first title defense against Pham. “Tuan is a tough opponent with great stand up,” said Santella of his challenger. “I’m looking forward to the fight. There’s no hiding it, this matchup is pretty much a kick boxer versus a grappler. I’m looking to bring it to the mat and pound him out. After that it’s whatever CFFC wants me to do next.”

I’m a motivated person! I train hard, work hard, and fight hard! I am fighting March 30th for 3FC Bantamweight belt and plan to bring that belt both home to Johnson City, and also with me when I deploy. I leave for 6 months shortly after my fight and plan to bring the belt as a reminder of why I fight in both the cage and overseas! When I come home I will be hitting the ground running and will be pursuing the fight game full time! I am excited to see where this takes me and I would hope to be able to work with you. I am a motivated promoter of products and an attractive, marketable fighter! Thanks for taking the opportunity to consider me for sponsorship
